Embodyment®
Yoga Therapy
Embodyment® Yoga Therapy is a gentle, non-invasive one-on-one hands-on-healing modality based on the principles of Svaroopa®
Yoga. Through the use of touch and awareness, Embodyment®
Yoga Therapy sessions help to release tensions in the core of the body, in the spine, facilitating the healing process on all levels; body, mind, and spirit.
In an Embodyment® Session the therapist places their hands on specific points on the sacrum, sit-bones, and hip joint to create the release at the base of the spine. The client lays down comfortably propped and supported in Shavasana, or Relaxation Pose during the first part of the session. After using the hand positions for ten to twenty minutes on each side the client is led into Rotated Stomach Pose, a gentle spinal twist. At this time the therapist completes the session by giving a gentle press along the spine on both sides to integrate all of the openings, allowing for the changes and releases that happened at the base of the spine to spread throughout the whole body.
